As a global hub facing new surges of innovation, Boston is currently re-thinking what it’s creative industries mean to the city. To better reflect these changes and demands, the 1st annual Talk Back Boston Forum and Expo will be held Saturday April 5th, 2014 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The free discussion and showcase will focus on the creative economy and creating more access to entrepreneurship.
Talk Back Boston Forum is focused on fostering greater access between businesses and the Boston community through an interactive exchange. Featuring a five-person panel that includes:
Mayor Martin J. Walsh, The City of Boston
Michael Monestime, Institute of Contemporary Art,
Dan Natola, the Founder of Bodega
Matt McArthur, the Found of the Record Company
Eileen Riestra, the CEO of DYA Studios Design Firm
Talk Back Boston is designed as a truly real-time collaborative and interactive space. The Talk Back Boston Expo will serves as an extension to the forum to display creations and businesses that demonstrate the creative industries and their benefit to the greater Boston community. The forum and expo provide a space for those interested in discussing innovation, creative problem resolution, and entrepreneurship.
“We are looking to understand how to create systems that nurture the local Creative Class and help create entrepreneurial opportunities,” says Shamshud Bery, a member on the Talk Back Boston planning committee. “In addition to that, we want to make sure these systems thrive within the city of Boston and sustain the networks we have created here.”
